National Theatre Live: The Audience

Friday February 27 @ 19:00

The Gaskell Hall, in partnership with Silverdale Film Society, is delighted to present National Theatre Live: The Audience on Friday 27th February at 7pm.

The Audience is one of the most-watched NT Live productions of all time. Academy Award winner Helen Mirren plays Queen Elizabeth II in the much-anticipated return of the Olivier Award-winning hit production that inspired Netflix’s The Crown. For 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II met with each of her 12 prime ministers in a private weekly meeting. This meeting is known as The Audience. From Winston Churchill to Margaret Thatcher and David Cameron, the Queen advised her prime ministers on matters both public and personal. Through these private audiences, we see glimpses of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch.

Filmed before a live audience at the National Theatre in February 2013, the show is a must for any fans of Helen Mirren or for those with an interest in historical dramas and engaging stories about British history. It’s an exceptional piece of theatre which won Helen Mirren both an Olivier Award and a Tony Award. We hope you can join us.Tickets £10 available online at https://tinyurl.com/2rrm6pn7 (plus 36p booking fee) or from Silverdale Pharmacy. Limited tickets may be available on the door.
